What Happens During a Medical Appointment?

Medical appointments typically last 30–60 minutes and are designed to help you better understand your pregnancy and your available options.

Intake and Health History

We’ll begin by collecting basic personal information, reviewing your health history, and completing any necessary consent forms.

One-on-One Support

You’ll meet privately with a trained advocate who will listen to your concerns, answer questions, and provide compassionate, judgment-free support.

Pregnancy Testing or STI Testing

If you’re receiving a pregnancy test or STI test, we use lab-quality urine tests for accurate results.

Limited Obstetrical Ultrasound

If an ultrasound is recommended, one of our registered nurses trained in limited obstetrical ultrasound will determine fetal heartbeat (when detectable) and estimate gestational age.

Nurse Consultation

You’ll have the opportunity to meet with a nurse for education, support, and answers to your medical questions.

Health Education

We’ll provide information to help you better understand your body, your pregnancy, and the next steps available to you.

Follow-Up Care

If appropriate, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment to continue supporting your needs.
